The companion view to the AI-assisted research catalog: every logged case study is tagged by discipline, tool, collection, and region — this page cross-tabulates those tags and tracks them over time. There's no predictor lab here (unlike the teaching catalog's trends page) — with only — entries, a trained model would have too little data per category to say anything reliable, so this page sticks to counts and cross-tabs.

How the mix of tags has shifted over time. Bars are stacked counts; switch to share to normalize away the catalog's overall growth. Unspecified groups entries whose source page didn't state a year; Pre-2023 folds together the scattered older entries (as far back as 2011) so the axis stays readable.

Pick two tag dimensions to cross-tabulate. Each heatmap row is normalized to 100% — darker cells mean a larger share of that row's case studies carry that column's tag. The ranked list surfaces the strongest pairings across all dimensions, not just the two selected, weighted by how much they beat the catalog-wide baseline (lift), with a minimum of 5 case studies behind each claim — with only — entries total, many pairings won't clear that bar, which is itself a signal of how much this catalog can support.
